No Starty

Well after trying to start the car I realized I had provided power incorrectly in the new harness I made for my ignition coils. The fun part is that I didn't have the pin removal tool and I ended up botching up some pins. Soooo Mad... Ordered new connectors for the harness, they should be in this next week. So this week she will run, she will run......

Oil Temp Sensor (Pan Location)

Well since I didn't want to mess with setting the pedestal up for the oil temp sensor I decided to put it in the oil pan oil level sensor location. I turned a piece with the correct diameter for the oring seal and drilled the hole pattern for the mounting of the sensor. Using a standard GM style oil temp sensor in the center. I have debated using this location in the past as new it would not be the hottest position. The issue though becomes that no matter what the temperature is coming out of the engine its the cooling systems ability to keep those temperatures in check before pumping it back through the engine. Taking that stance I should be fine in the pan.

Ignition Setup IGN-1A Coils

Powdercoated my new IGN-1A bracket last night and mounted my coils to the bracket today. I don't believe it looks to bad if I do say so myself. We may have to start selling these at the store. Plenty of airflow to the individual coils and compact mounting to the AC compressors 4 bolt mounting position below the steering pump. Short wires and easy access to my harness. The coils are the popular IGN-1A coils with igniter. These are from my knowledge the highest energy inductive type coil available. Hotter than the LS type coils with an even shorter dwell times. They are by all appearances Mercury Marine coils of some type but I have yet to be able to find them at the prices available under the IGN-1A coil name.

Water Injection Setup

Welded in a new floor after replacing the rear sheet metal on the car. The water injection system is from alcohol injection systems. This is their new 3 gal tank setup. Very nice tank unit mounts the pump under the tank and provide a sump and a nice tank cap and vent. Running stainless braid under the car to two nozzles (one in the air filter pre-turbo and one in the Greddy compression elbow. I plan on mounting a test button as well as standard boost triggering from the Haltech.

Turbo & Piping

The new turbo allowed me the time to update the IC piping on the turbo side. Created a bit more room for angling the air filter when I finally finish my V-Mount hood. Turbo outlet was cut down a bit and then a 90 cast elbow tigged on.

New Setup

This year I will be starting out with a new fuel, turbo, aux injection system, and ignition system. Currently everything is still being worked on but there is light in the tunnel ahead.
