Did the majority of my calibration and setting of parameters for PLA with my E3D V5 hotend. It appears the fan on the E3D is a bit small and was causing the PLA to jam after printing for 30 minutes or so. I played with the temperature but will make a new shroud for a larger fan and try and cool the transition from the block to the fins. I have a heated bed on its way and need to order some ABS and Laywood to try.
This is the first mock up of my 3D delta printer. Its using 1020 aluminum extrusion so I had to modify the mini kossel parts to be able to use them to make my life easier. Hoping to have more rigidity in this setup. Waiting on an Azteeg X5 with 32 bit ARM chip and 32nd microstepping. Using an E3D hot end and thanks to Jon on the delta printer google forums I will have a better fan integrated effector.
Took the 7 to the track ran a 12.6 @ 115.6. Not bad but I'm a terrible launcher. So I'm sure I should be in the 11's. Toasted the clutch on the second run with the 12.6 so I will be putting the 6 puck clutch disc in.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931759245311854838.post-87265019735458999212010-09-06T05:55:00.000-07:002010-09-06T06:00:27.247-07:00RunningWell I have neglected the blog but I rebuilt with a new rotor as well as font plate. Had some miss-fire and then oil pressure dropped to nill. Front plate broke at the oil turbo feed and across the dowel. On tear down it appears that I was pushing too much water, as the front rotor also pinched an apex seal but didn't break it. Again all this is my opinion of what happened as the settings, fuel, and pressure I was running should not have created detonation. Oh well time for a build. I turned a piece with the correct diameter for the oring seal and drilled the hole pattern for the mounting of the sensor. Using a standard GM style oil temp sensor in the center. I have debated using this location in the past as new it would not be the hottest position. The issue though becomes that no matter what the temperature is coming out of the engine its the cooling systems ability to keep those temperatures in check before pumping it back through the engine. Taking that stance I should be fine in the pan.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-931759245311854838.post-46702506655894902772010-03-23T16:57:00.000-07:002010-03-23T17:14:14.602-07:00Ignition Setup IGN-1A Coils<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY1FSt-r2UbpwulEvzIrxnijlCUDzHwv-Ivw4gZ9e9DTKrHTgfpgeGl712DD3l8kQF-wcSaHzl7kYuBahjVzHAL1UPxiZ6My3GFOeCuzfCR3_9k2GCkXQHO2H73IMGEuLz08nceqXz2Vg/s320/DSC02001.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451987013970429954" />
Powdercoated my new IGN-1A bracket last night and mounted my coils to the bracket today. I don't believe it looks to bad if I do say so myself. We may have to start selling these at the store. Plenty of airflow to the individual coils and compact mounting to the AC compressors 4 bolt mounting position below the steering pump. Short wires and easy access to my harness. The coils are the popular IGN-1A coils with igniter. These are from my knowledge the highest energy inductive type coil available. Hotter than the LS type coils with an even shorter dwell times. They are by all appearances Mercury Marine coils of some type but I have yet to be able to find them at the prices available under the IGN-1A coil name.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
